Newest builds won't even load (crash on startup)
#91
dude this behavior has changed months ago. -p means portable and all data is stored in the installation directory. Without any parameters XBMC stores all data inside the user profile directory (default mode).
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Oh wait then I switched things around, I thought -p was Profile mode. Do you have any tips on getting the resolution to work good? -fs does some strange things, I still see the taskbar and the resolution seems bigger then the screen.

my xbmc is crashing on statup

if i enabled fake full screen mode it would run but since it was causing screen tearing i turned it off and now i cannot get back into xbmc

i cannot find the guisettings.xml , is it because i am using the portable version?

Well
Seems it's a regular bug what XBMC has for a long time...
This is my first try of this software and experiencing the same problem. Crash at startup and showing a black screen.

What's below is my crash report, hope some one resolve it.

Going to take a ticket for this bug as well...

Thanks for taking the time

@persian_boy - I might be wrong but I suspect that you'll struggle to use XBMC due to your video card. If that debug log is correct, you're using an ATI Rage Fury Pro which is nearly 12 years old now and if i remember correctly they only had 32MB of RAM. Even if it worked, it'd probably be a horrible experience. You could try updating the video drivers as it looks like you're using the default Microsoft supplied ones at the moment?

Thank you for reply
And Yes, you right...
This one is my old computer which equipped by some old hard-wares as well. But that "ATI Rage Fury Pro" is using its own drivers.
by the way I'll test XBMC on a new hardware soon and take note here.
