Sure thing Arnova. (would the debug log Waffa linked in post #69 be good? He also mentions the fanart issue in that post)

If not, I can post another tonight when I get home from work.

Thanks

Nope, can't use that log as it was made using the older SVN version which still has the memory-leak, we recently fixed. I need a debug log showing the fanart issue created with XBMC version 18422 or better, and preferably even version 18467....

Gotcha. Will do tonight if no one takes care of it before then.

I'll try to help out with this too if I can find some time tonight.

Indeed I did not mention it, but my logs are from the 18422 build.

See debug log:

Here is my logs from when i posted that fanart wasn't working after Revision 16903 the problem started on the merge just after that revision.

Revisions 16963 to 17615 extremely fussy with fanart

ok the debug log has expired but it started in Rev 16963

This is weird:
Code:
19:29:40 M:   499712  SEVERE: DLL: Q:\system\ImageLib.dll : malloc failed, crash imminent (Out of memory requesting 2764840 bytes)
....
19:37:01 M: 27267072   ERROR: DIRECTORY::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting f:/Backgrounds 1280 x 720/weather/9\
The first one is obviously some memory problem. But the second one seems to be caused by some screwed path in ie. the library. Could you retry with a clean library and check whether the error message returns.... Any of you able to reproduce this with ie. the PM3HD skin?

Create a new bug report in trac with a steps to reproduce, description, debug logs + all relevant info.... And CC me there...

EDIT: More debug logs would be very helpfull.....

Ok, did create more debug logs. r18422

First:
Another try with mediastream and my own userdata.
Same thing memory ok but no fanart in movie library, tv show fanart comes but overlay is black should be transparent.
http://pastebin.com/m480f8ac1

Image

Second:
PMIII HD with my own userdata
Also not showing movie fanart, tv show fanart is showing.
http://pastebin.com/m5cf9493a

Third:
Mediastream with own userdata and deleted movie library and thumbs.
Looked to file view and fanart shows but same like tv show overlay is black.
http://pastebin.com/m558bfb6e

Image

Fourth:
PMIII HD with own userdata and deleted movie library and thumbs.
In file view you don't have a fanart view, so I did set content to a folder with a copple of movies and also no fanart showing.
http://pastebin.com/m384f741a

HuhKeep finding it strange that with default userdata you have memory problems and with custom userdata memory is fine.
Also my files are very ordened and well mentained never have problems with library.

Waffa, thanks for the info. Did you also try ie. an up2date Windows (or Linux/MacOSX) build to check whether it has the same issue? And please put all this info into the trac bug-report (including logs & pictures)...

I just noticed in your screen shots Waffa the CPU usage.
99% on one and 68% on the other!

Seems awful high........

Edit:
Build rev18469 with default userdata and mediastream still memory lost.
http://pastebin.com/m5748ada3

Build rev18469 with own userdata (emptied video lib/thumbs and set content to a few)skin: MediaStream.
Fanart not coming up but memory seems okHuh
http://pastebin.com/m1c4b2ece

Build rev18469 with own userdata (emptied video lib/thumbs and set content to a few)skin: PMIII HD.
Also the same no fanart.
http://pastebin.com/m58e5a891

Here's also a debug log of build jan 25 2009 (r17349) that works fine. Something to compare.

r18467 quite possibly fixes the diffuse problem.
