Problem with update library videodb
#1
Rev19465 Windows PM3.HD

My database included 650 Movies, 8 TVshows with eg. 300 episodes and 1200 musicvideos.

The musicvideos and the movies added to the db with xml-nfo files.

The description for the update library in the online-manual says:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Video_Library

Quote:Update Library
Checks if files in the Library have been changed, added or removed, modifies the database accordingly and runs a cleaning routine. Adds missing media to the database.

If I update library some of the described function not work.

1. If a movie isn´t longer available, the movie don´t delete.
2. If the content of a xml-nfo change for musicvideos the new information don´t added to the db.

Is this behavior correct??
If the behavior correct I think it is helpful to update the online manual

For me looks the function like add new content and not update library

If a debug log is necessary it isn´t a problem to provide

Thanks for your help

see <cleanonupdate> for 1). we got tired of the complaints from ppl with sleeping nas'es.
2), well, it works as intended. i agree that it should probably pick up nfo changes though

For 1)
Sorry I don´t found a info about <cleanonupdate>. Is that a information in the online manual or a setting in the gui??

For 2)
I make changes in a xml-nfo for musicvideos "My Excellence - The End Of Days.nfo"
Change the plot, year, runtime, and title but nothing of the changes add to the database

The files (mpg, nfo, tbn) for this musicvideo is stored "smb://INTEL5200/Musikvideos/Clips/2009/"

In the log I found following line
Quote:10:03:38 T:3732 M:4294967295 DEBUG: VIDEO::CVideoInfoScanner:Big GrinoScan Skipping dir 'smb://INTEL5200/Musikvideos/Clips/2009/' due to no change

Debug log:

Yeah, recognizing nfo changes would be nice. would save me (and problably a lot of other people) a lot of work when adding the media flags.
