I have noticed that every time I go into the "Now playing" list, it restarts the currently playing song.

This happens both in library and party mode...

I am running the latest SVN version, any one have any ideas if...

1. Is this a feature or a bug? (i expect bug)
2. Are there any work arounds?
3. Can someone give me some pointers of where to look in the code, so I can patch this behavior for myself?

Fixed in SVN. http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/5888

It seems you have the "latest" SVN, please provide a debug log to confirm the latest is in use and that the problem indeed still exists.
