The Sets Manager is under tools (support not yet added to XBMC), Sort Title is under Title in the movie editor (in SVN version).

Just to be sure I'm communicating this properly (because as a software developer myself, I'm confused about the rewrite comment) ... what I'm referring to is the ability to keep the variable (already persisted in your dataset) of FileNamePath, and in the grid listing movies, display that rather than the MovieName (which is currently set by scraping).
There is one other alternative setting that could be used. On the "Automatic" scrape runs, you could offer the ability to do everything *but* set the name. I realize there is a setting that allows the option of renaming the file, but I'm referring to the MovieName stored in the database. Unlike other properties (which generally don't exist until scraped), the MovieName is one that people often set to their preference. In other words, when I rip a movie, I name it how I like, based on my naming convention. Therefore, of all of the fields to make optional in a scrape, I think MovieName is a very clear choice.
I don't quite understand what you're asking for here. If you don't want to scrape the title of the movie, just disable scraping the title (Settings -> Scraper - Data -> Options). If you want to change the title of the movie as displayed in the list, just edit the title in the movie editor.

Which I fully agree, hence I still think renaming the movie is best. Casino Royale becomes "James Bond 21 - Casino Royale". Such a system works for all movie types. And the original title is still in <origtitle> right? so nothing is actually lost.
In fact, I use tagline to add on the foreign language name of a film and the movie title for the english version and lock tagline as well.
Keep in mind though, that like pretty much everything else in XBMC, these features are optional.... use them if you want, ignore them if you want. I think the discussion regarding sorttitle vs. sets vs. renaming is getting a little out of proportion. lol

So for Harry Potter it would be Harry Potter # blablabla, this way i always can compare the movie total count between EMM and xbmc. I think it would be hard to check if all went fine while ane xbmc db if you have lot of movies as the counter would be diff beween EMM and xbmc ?
XBMC would still know how many movies you have and sets could be inline... like you click on the set icon and the movies in that set pop out of it. We'll just have to see...
