[RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!)
OK - I was trying to reply to your last reply to me, but this board isn't nested, so it made no sense !

On the "Cancel" issue. I'm using 10.1 on Linux.

If I press "Cancel" whilst the iPlayer app is displaying DialogProgress.xml, the box changes to "iPlayer: Cancelling" and never moves.

The log snippet shows that xbmc is setting the script "Stopping script with id:12", but the script never responds to that request.

The only way to move away from the application is to reboot xbmc.

Thanks

David

You could try quoting ;-)

A plugin should not be able to freeze xbmc permanently like this, so I would suggest perhaps posting a bug on trac.xbmc.org - I am also unable to reproduce it here.
Hi, I'm having trouble playing live stream, if someone can helps I will really appreciate.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Play any live stream, except the BBC Parliament.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
See the live video

Debug log output (http://pastebin.com/)
http://pastebin.com/0vdhgfU7

What version of the plugin are you using? On what OS?
2.4.8

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried the plugin in two machines with XBMC in different OS Windows and Linux and got the same error.

I can play any non live stream video, but all live streams fails with the debug log attached.

Interesting that the Parliament always works.

I'm using a proxy and I can play the live video on the website and also on the BBC Iplayer desktop.

Any help will be much appreciate.
marcelomanzo Wrote:Hi, I'm having trouble playing live stream, if someone can helps I will really appreciate.

this isn't a debug log btw - you need to enable debugging in xbmc.
also please post full logs - although users often think they know the relevant part, there is often other useful information we need.

you could try switching to akamai stream source, but it looks like the stream source currently used is geolocked. the proxy doesnt proxy rtmp data only the handshake. technically rtmpt (rtmp over http) could support a proxy but librtmp doesnt have any code for this afaik.
Looks like you are right, I tried to connect using the VPN and it works.

Just the proxy it's not enought
Anyone else having issues with this and the nightly build? Fails to load a list of programmes on any channel and when I go back I get a script failed error. Can post a debug log if this is not a known issue (has python version changed on windows nightly build - had script failed error with recentlyadded.py and had to install an additional zip to resolve).
Don't use the nightlies just yet. internal python was removed, along with some changes like getcwd no longer returning the current dir. I have a trac ticket open and am waiting on final guidance regarding the recommended way to do this. as this addon has the same codebase for both xbmc4xbox and xbmc I have to make sure I keep backwards compatibility etc.

http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11417
I keep getting an error
'no module named addoncompat'

Running on ubuntu 10.10 with dharma.

Had it running perfectly on my windows build :S
As I said, this is the issue with the nightly builds since removal of internal python and the change of how getcwd words. I would downgrade from the bleeding edge builds or wait until I get a response and adjust the code accordingly (or you can patch it up to get the addon path from the addon if you like).
Hmm, didn't even realize I had a nightly build installed. Installed yesterday through terminal (massive linux noob).

How I can I downgrade easily to a working xbmc?

what linux distribution / where did you get your xbmc from etc ?
pausing videos; doesn't work. Un pause, vid will play a few secs and xbmc completly freezes. Have to force close with task manager.

is there a fix for this? plugins shouldn't lock up the whole lot using a basic function.

This has been reported in this thread many times and the answer is it's an XBMC problem.

'no module named addoncompat'

Running on ubuntu 10.10 with dharma.

I have the same problem on 2 machines (an Aspire R3700 and a AMD 785/Athlon rig).

iplayer2 plugin was working fine on XBMC Dharma on top of Ubuntu 10.10. Applied some Ubuntu patches over the weekend on the R3700 and iplayer2 plugin stopped working ('no module named addoncompat').

On AMD785/Athlon rig (Dharma + Ubuntu 10.10), I checked and iplayer2 plugin was working OK, but applying same patches made the plug-in break on this machine as well.

Unfortunately, I didn't make a note of what packages were changed, although I do remember 2 packages were deleted. I'm a Linux newbie, so I don't know how to back out the Ubuntu 10.10 changes.

Plugin version: IPlayer-v2.4.8.zip

Other plug-ins on XBMC still work fine.
Anyone have the playback, just stop randomly? It's like it was ages ago where the video would play for a bit then just stop.

Not sure if the BBC site has changed something, as it was working about 2/3 weeks ago.
