Has something changed wthin iplayer recently? The plugin had been working perfectly for ages, but a couple of weeks ago it stopped playing - every time I tried to play something, it would hang on the "working" stage and wouldn't start the video, eventually displaying the "this item failed to play" error.
I did a complete reinstall of the OS (changed from Mythbuntu 12.04 to the latest XBMCbuntu), but the problem remained. I've managed to get it kind of working by changing the stream from RTMP to RTMPT and it at least plays now, but it buffers almost constantly and randomly stops the stream and returns to the menu.
I should point out that I'm in NZ and using my ISP's "Global Mode" service, which is some kind of witchcraft that has the same effect as going through proxies in the UK and USA. iplayer works fine through a browser on my (linux) laptop.
Now, I'm not expecting any answers from the scant info I've given above (I'll try to get a log file organised once I work out how), but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has run into any similar issues, or whether it's something to do with way my ISP plays with iplayer.
