[RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!)
I uploaded a new version to the same location. woops 6:30am. now time for sleep.
Hi Exobuzz,

I tried your newest upload of the proxy version here in the USA. I found a crappy free socks 4/5 proxy to test with. What I found is that I had limited success with some of the radio streams using the proxy. I found that the TV streams worked pretty well. Live TV did not work at all. I also tried a free http proxy and found that socks seems to work more reliably for getting tv shows to work (maybe just an inconsistent http proxy). I also found that there was no way to enter the password for my premium http proxy. Can this be fixed? Thanks VERY much for your work!!

how do you mean no way to enter the password?
Hi Exobuzz,

In the plugins settings you have the proxy option. Username is open for entering data, however, no mater what option that is selected in proxy type - Example "HTTP". The Passowrd dialog box under username is grayed out and I am not able to enter in the proxies password. Also I am using this on the xbox.
the settings stuff will need to change for the xbox (or not depending if I manage to get some xbmc4xbox code working). if you want you can edit the settings.xml and remove the enable= attributes
Sorry Exobuzz, I had thought you were working on both platforms simultaneously as one plugin.
well yes and no - but this new code is written and tested on xbmc on linux and later I will run it on the xbox. I'm currently trying to update some of the settings code in xbmc4xbox to support some of the logic of xbmc.
Big Grin

Thanks Exobuzz,

I will let the Linux crew from now on give the feedback on testing this in it's current stage Smile Great work.
Hi guys new member here.

Currently running XBMC Dharma (Win7 64bit) and having a lot of difficulty trying to get the iPlayer plugin to work (v2.4.2).

It seems to install but then when trying to run a program, either live or not, XBMC freezes and crashes?

Tried installing it via the hitches repositry but no luck and have followed the wiki instructions.

Fairly new to XBMC and its coding etc so maybe I'm making a noob error.

Any help would be welcomed.

Thanks.
Please post an xbmc debug log to pastebin or similar

OK will do.

Just to clarify, however, that I'm installing it correctly.

Once I download the zip file, I extract the folder "plugin.video.iplayer" and copy it to

Program Files (x86)/XBMC/addons ?
sounds right.
None of the radio streams work any more for me.

Roll back your xbmc. most likely the ffmpeg libs on windows are missing mms protocol or something. there were some changes recently that switched to using ffmpeg for mms support. you could also get the latest svn build of iplayer since i fixed up the audio so that more than one audio stream should work (aac rtmp audio should now work for example as it was broken before).

Cheers, updating iPlayer from source and changing to AAC worked a treat.
