[OLD] HOW-TO watch Live TV in XBMC for Linux with Tvheadend, the easy way!
Hi

When I scan DVB-s Thor 0.8w, no HD channels popups - I have a STB0899 Multistandard Mystique DVB-S2 card.

Any clues?

Thanks
FlexyZ

works now - checked "Autodetect muxes" under adapter

there seems to be an issue with the driver indeed. it can't read the mac and, more importantly, doesn't find a frontend on the first boot. you should try a new driver/kernel or try the linuxtv.org mailing list.

@ie332
I started a new page on our wiki, but it's not finished yet: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...BMC-PVR%29

yes. check your addon configuration or look in ~/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log

software decryption of dvb content is illegal in some countries. for that reason I won't discuss specific encryptions here. try the tvheadend forum.

yeah, on the weekend I tried to adopt the procedure as given in the blog, but without any improvement.

As I currently can't shut down / power cycle my ASRock ION330HT out of XBMC Live on Karmic (since the upgrade of XBMC to Dharma?) I was considering a fresh installation anyway. However I'm still not sure which version to use: either Standard XBMC Live Dharma iso or one of XBMCfreaks version with _early_ 2.6.37 Kernel or his Nuvoton Experimental Version because of the (hopefully better) IR support or ...

thx for your help anyway!
Team XBMC only supports the first one (so the one hosted on xbmc.org)

Hi,

I've just installed XBMC on Archlinux with a TVHeadend backend also on ArchLinux.

It seems the Live TV option i had on Ubuntu is missing on the Archlinux distro ?

How can i get the Live TV option on Archlinux ?

Cheers,

Paul

Are you using a PVR based package?

There is no PPA in Arch, if its not available in repo you have to compile it yourself. PKGBUILDs are in AUR download the files and run makepkg or use AUR installers like yaourt, clyde...

For stable Dharma with PVR:
https://archvdr.svn.sourceforge.net/svnr...harma-pvr/

download this files and run makepkg -s
okay so i did:

svn co https://archvdr.svn.sourceforge.net/svnr...harma-pvr/

and got the files in ./xbmc-dharma-pvr.

cd ./xbmc-dharma-pvr
makepkg -s --asroot

and got the error:

==> Making package: xbmc-dharma-pvr 10.10-3 (Tue Jan 18 09:52:55 CET 2011)
==> Checking Runtime Dependencies...
==> Installing missing dependencies...
error: 'libmicrohttpd-xbmc': could not find or read package
==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.

do i need to add a repository somewhere ?
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41569
I did a makepkg PKGBUILD and besides the libmicrohttpd it spit out all sorts of missing packages so I guess i have to install them all manually or is there an automated way ?
Does tvheadend support the AF9015 dvbt cards?

While i can get tvheadend installed and configured, i can't get any live video out of it, only a single still screenshot when selecting each channel.

The same dvbt card in the same Ubuntu 10.10 install displays live tv fine when using mythtv instead.

Any ideas?
Want to know more on the live xbmc on the linux..
@Dojrude:
please pastebin your debug log: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file

install libmicrohttpd from AUR then edit PKGBUILD of xbmc-dharma-pvr replace libmicrohttpd-xbmc with libmicrohttpd and run makepkg -s
