[OLD] HOW-TO watch Live TV in XBMC for Linux with Tvheadend, the easy way!
Hi all,

I can't get CWC <=> NewCS working.
Here's what I see in my logs:

Here's what's in the Tvheadend syslog:

Jun 24 19:00:36 cwc: Attemping to connect to 192.168.1.146:10000
Jun 24 19:00:37 cwc: Connected to 192.168.1.146:10000
Jun 24 19:00:37 cwc: 192.168.1.146: Wait login response: Read error (header): Connection reset by peer

NewCS log:
[ 19:01:33 ] [ Newcamd:10000 ] Can't decrypt client msg, rejecting!

Do I need to use the softcam here's as well? Just like for CCcam? So newcamd instead of CCcam?

I have CCcam <=> NewCS running ok by the way but it's choppy sometimes and needs buffering sometimes.
Just some info, tried the lastest svn [4966] and had no sound on my analog PVR150 and also 2/3 seconds delay in starting up, reverted back to 4907 and all is 100% again on the latest svn of xbmc. Laugh
is there any chance we can get backgroundupdate into advancedsettings.xml for PVR? Or where would be the right section to ask this?
Hi pinthenet, thanks for your helping.
I just gave up from compiling the source code and switched to Gujs's PPA and now it worked for me. Thanks again Smile
Can anyone confirm if there are still sound issues with AAC channels when using TVHeadend ?

I'm currently using VDR after trying TVHeadend a while back, but would like to switch because there are some features I want.. but the audio issue held me back previously.

bmentink Wrote:Hi GuJs,

I have the following crash after running fine for awhile ..

This happened just opening up a video directory .. I cannot play recordings now.

It seems to be the info in that directory though, as I can open up another directory and play the contents fine ... there is nothing strange in the faulty directory though.

Just tried the trunk svn and that plays that directory fine ..

The build is: xbmc-9.11+svn30781.lucid5

Thanks.

Anyone?

Seems my problem starts here, but XBMC log didn't provide any related info about that.

in Settings->Add-ons->installed Add-ons->PVR clients. Only shows VDR VNSI Client :mad:

Thanks

same problem, any fix for itHuh
why are usb dvb-s2 tuners and linux such a nightmare? Sad

Technotrend s2-3600 give me lots and lots of continuity counter errors and now the 2 tevii s660 i bought take nearly 10 seconds to change channels.

The 2 tevii s650's i have work perfectly.

Think its time to take a break from tvheadend again Wink

I'm using TBS QBox-S2 USB adapter(DVB-S2), works fine. And if you got many continuity counter errors, be sure your connection cable are good.

i have the same tuners as you, tvheadend is swapping very fast, are u using the drivers from tevii? they debug log some RC messages, but remove that and recompile them, thats what i did.

Thank you for posting that!

I've been looking for ages for information regarding the QBox-S2 USB and Linux. TBS say it works but I've not read anything other than that really, maybe because it works without many issues!

I think that may be the box I'm going to get when I eventually sort a satellite out!
druggo Wrote:they debug log some RC messages, but remove that and recompile them, thats what i did.

druggo, I'm still using the very old drivers because of that reason, please would you mind sharing what needs to be removed to get those rc errors out?

I take it you referring to:
Quote: * [ 3133.480053] dw2102: query RC start
* [ 3133.500190] dw2102: query RC end

the only annoyance is that you have to compile the drivers yourself, and you have to repeat the process manually at every kernel upgrade.
Other than that, the box works quite well.
@ant_thomas, glad that helps Smile

Exactly!

And I've tried DVBWorld DVB-S2 USB Adapter (With CI adapter), seems the driver's good, but it can not load the firmware witch I've downloaded from DVBWorld's website. I didn't figure that out in time, couse my friend took it back very soon.
