Adding movies to XBMC from external hdd
#1
Hey, i have just downloaded xmbc.

But when i go into watch my movies, its empty...

All my movies is on a external harddrive, which is connected with USB.

I can see the files if i press Add volumes, or add source... but again, when i press watch movies, i have to use the right arrow, and then press files, and then into the folder, and select the movie i wanna see..?

why.? how can i add them, so they will pop up, when i press watch movie.?

you need to scrape/scan them into your library.
using the context menu, set the content of your source to movies, then run a scan.

So the External drive is connected to what exactly? The ATV or a Mac/PC somewhere else?

The easiest way to do this is searching and reading. If that doesn't help, asking the same questions over and over again will lead you here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=38964
