Hello, I am looking for the best (easiest to install and set up....for a dummy like me) IR remote for XBMC on a Linux machine.....I have an IMON RSC currently and it is not going well. I figured there must be a bettter option. TIA!!!

Agreed - best to get something connected via USB and make sure your motherboard has wake-on-USB functionality so you can wake it from S3 sleep (I'm assuming PC hardware here)
