I downloaded HD fanart and posters for all of my movies to reduce the amount of time it takes to scrape my movie collection. I noticed, though, that if you have local copies of these files, XBMC refuses to scrape any additional images if you manually go in and search for more fanart.

I know I can just download another fanart or poster image and manually overwrite the previous one, but sometimes I like to see what's out there right from XBMC. Is there any way to preserve XBMC's image scraping functions while still using local images?
