Searching for something else on the net, I found this:
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xb...esandmedia

Has anyone used it? What's it like? Has it been around for a while?

thanks - i didn't know you could use the original xbox as a media extender to view stuff from your Media Center PC.

Does the client get better with each iteration of the Media Center app? I suppose this must also let you watch live TV on the original xbox?

I know that, what I'm getting at is that the link is for using an original XBOX as a media center extender for XP/Vista/Win7.

I must have missed that memo because I didn't think it was possible and I've never seen the an MCX DVD. This is not for the 360 AFAIK.

The software that you talking about was a disk and remote combo sold by M$ that linked your Xbox to your media centre PC ..... it was pretty awfull - to use it you had to boot off the disk and its codec support was tosh! - the remote controller is a nice addition to XBMC thou if you can get one.... IIRC it was only release in the US.

XBMC ABSOLUTELY trousers it - in every way shape or form. Big Grin
