How shall I put up the .nfo for a movie with subdir CD1 and CD2?
#1
I have a movie in a folder namned Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED and in that folder I have CD1 and CD2 with the files ctr.cd1-xvid-reserved.avi and ctr.cd2-xvid-reserved.avi.

In the first folder Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED I have put an .nfo with the the name ctr-xvid-reserved.nfo

In that .nfo is this info.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<movie>
<title>Closing the Ring</title>
</movie>
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0488380/

Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED is in my movie folder, and that's the one I've set content to "movies" and themoviedb.org (back online now).

But just this movie will not be added. Not even if I in file mode press info for just this movie.

Please, what have I done wrong?

This one works for me, and I cant see the difference?

Movies/Twin.Peaks.Fire.Walk.With.Me.1992.DVDRip.XViD.AC3.iNTERNAL-FFM
with subfolder CD1 and CD2 and rar-files in CD1 and CD2. The rarfiles contain a file with name like .cd1. and .cd2. in it.
and the root of the movie got an .nfo with the IMDB url to the movie.

Why will not the first movie be added?

I'm still having problem with this movie.

I just renamed the files, and the movie folder. I then used "clean library" enabled debug mode.

On the next start up, I updated my library.

This is my log.

http://pastebin.com/f3813d66e

Strange is that I have an .nfo in the same folder with the correct imdb number, and the moviedb do have the movie added?

http://themoviedb.org/movie/14509

Thanks.

movie does not exist on tmdb and you have set tmdb as the scraper (hence we try to translate the imdb url to a tmdb one)

Personally, I would skip the CD1, CD2 subfolders, keep all the files ion one directory (with a stackable extension) and simply create a movie.nfo.
EDIT:Admittetly without reading the thread thoroughly, thought it was a stacking issue.

But what about this url?

isnt that tmdb?

ctr.cd1-xvid-reserved.avi and ctr.cd2-xvid-reserved.avi are not stackable filenames, unless the tokens are allowed anywhere in the filename (which I don't believe they are).

Reading it, it does not explicitly say what the default stacking rules are (and it should) only what you need to add to advancedesettings.xml which may or may not be valid.
Back to the drawing board.

Hehe. But, if I have an .nfo with the imdb url, shouldn't that work any way? Is is it my stacking that is the problem, and XBMC don't thing there is a movie even if there is an url?

EDIT: "When in File Mode, XBMC has the ability to recognize and present 'multi-part' video files based on filename stacking rules. For example a two part VCD can be displayed and played as a single file in the user interface. This is the default behavior of the Video Library."

What does " This is the default behavior of the Video Library." mean?

EDIT2: I have now changed the names to

movies\Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED\Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED.CD1.avi

and

movies\Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED\Closing.The.Ring.2007.DVDRip.XviD-RESERVED.CD2.avi

and a .nfo with the url. Still no success..

I have now even removed the cd2 file and renamed the cd1, and it will still not get scanned to the db.

As someone said, IF its not in the tmdb, then what is this?

http://themoviedb.org/movie/14509

EDIT:
And when I now tried to manually set the content to movie, and use IMDB as scraper, the movie was scanned. Just sad about fanart and low res. poster.

But can some one explain for my why I can find the movie at the themoviedb.org, but XMBC can't?

It's supposed to mean that the library will stack files regardless of the Stacking setting in files mode.

Documentation has been updated btw (having the token inside the filename is apparently all fine and dandy)

I have no means of testing atm, what happens if your nfo file only includes a link to themoviedb, that is:
http://themoviedb.org/movie/14509

That worked. Thank you.

Then it was some problem with the IMDB number and the url for themoviedb.
