Power-ON/OFF (and Reboot) the Xbox with the (IR/InfraRed) DVD-remote?
#31
Back for more help!

Installed the XIR that was recommended and it works slick for On/Off! But, now my XBox DVD remote nor my Harmony 880 work for anything more than On/Off!?

I still have the DVD dongle in the Xbox.

What went wrong?

OoPs!

Well I guess I read several posts re: XIR below and thought it would be fine.

Instead of doing all this XIR and IR Mod stuff, try this:

http://shop.sickmods.net/product/XERC_2_XE/

You don't need a modchip, you can program the xbox to turn on, off, and even eject. It also includes a bonus LED Fader feature on the status light. You can also use any remote if I'm not mistaken. I have one in my xbox and I love it! I definitely recommend it for only $20.

Is there a way to turn on the power to the Xbox via the remote? It currently is the only unit I need to walk up to to power on and I would love to be able to change that.

Thanks!

I ordered mine last week and should be here by tomorrow.

I am looking into ordering mine for only one reason. To make the macros on my remote bullet proof.

Hi,
How do I turn-on XBOX using remote. I can do a restart while XBOX is on but cannot power it up while it is off. I have to physically be near XBOX and press the power button.. Wanted to avoid that... Any help is appreciated..

Hey guys -

I didn't see this question answered so I'll give it a try. On my Xbox I can "hard"-restart the Xbox with my gamepad by clicking a 4-button combination:

Left Trigger, Right Trigger, Back Button, Start

Is there any way to make this work with the Xbox remote control?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah I've been browsing through that guide although it doesn't clarify whats the name of the remote control name for i.e. the Left or the right trigger.

Neither does it say anything about executing several actions in one go. (Convert 4 buttons into 1 button.)
