I am having an odd problem with playing back large .mkv 720p videos. When I initially start the video the playback is choppy and audio is out of sync. However if I use play using external player (Which is set to media player classic) MPC pops up but does not start the video. I can then open the video in MPC and it works perfectly or close it down and use XBMC's default player and then the choppyness and sync issues are gone.
As if that isn't strange enough this "fix" only works when external player is set to MPC. If the advanced setting is taken out it doesn't work using either the default or external player. Any ideas?
My system is a Pentium Dual Core 2.20GHz with 2GB RAM, however since both MPC works fine and XBMC works after the "fix" I don't think hardware is an issue.
