Hello to everybody of this great community !

I am new to XBMC with the Aeon Skin and have some Questions

First to my Hardware, its the Asrock Ion 330 and i have installed the last standard XBMC live Version on a usb stick.

Now to my problems ... with the standard aeon skin all works fine, but i want to use one of the modded like the showmix or the hitched one. But with them i got several problems , of some i got rid of but one problem is that i have black backdrops in the main menu. is it possible to get there backdrops with my live version that is not the latest svn ? maybe something simple like to change some files from the mod with files from the standard aeon or something else ?

The other question is, in the skins with the extrathumbs functionality, is it possible that the xbmc´s internal scraper downloads them by himself or is there only the way over a tool like the ember media ?
and if it´s so, than how can i transfer all my scraped data on my local pc with the usb drive with movies on to the xbmc, that there all movies with extrathumbs are available ? (hmm ... i think its a question for the ember thread...

can someone help me ?

I dont think a modded version of Aeon will work with the old xbmc versions, you have to get the latest SVN of xbmc, I am using the XBMC 9.11 alpha and using the temmi2000 version of Aeon (Aeon65) its the best one.

No sure about the second question but all my media is on a external hard drive conected via USB to my HTPC, I use ember media to scrap all my movies, and MIP for TV shows. I dont think xbmc's internal scraper will scrap extra thumbnails.

Ember media will store all the extrathumbs locally (in each movies folder) and when you add the source to xbmc, it will pick up the extra thumbs, you dont have to import anything.

Hope that makes sense.

ok thanks, i got it now to work mit ember media and all looks fine, but my main problem at the moment is still that i cant get backdrops at the main menu, they are all black ... i´ve seen that i need the latest svn but my problem is ,i have the xbmc live version because it must be this and i dont no if i can upgrade it or if there is any other way to get backdrops in the home menu ... ? if i change the default.png from the folders, there is still nothing ... :confused2:

Personally I like to choose my extrathumbs, I just add the following to any IMDB url which takes you straight to any stills from the movie

mediaindex?refine=still_frame

For example

Not to high jack this thread but does your mod work with the latest I thought you couldn't change any settings if your using Aeon which is why I didn't point him to the alpha release ?

I didn´t use the official Alpha till now but I don´t know what should speak against it. What do you mean with not being able to change any settings?

ok my problem is that xbmc live is installed on a removable usb stick at the moment, so i think i cannot go with the tutorial ... so either i have to install it to the hdd or i test it with new release

but i think i try it first with the 9.11 alpha release, i had the older version and maybe the problems with the main menu are gone ...
