Asus P4-P5N9300 overscan on Philips plasma 42PF9966 HDMI/DVI-I
#1
Could anyone help me, please.

I recently built up a Asus P4-P5N9300 barebone to be used with XBMC live installed on the internal Hard Drive.

I'm connecting it to a year 2004 Philips plasma 42PF9966 that could manage up to 1920x1080i resolution (and 640/720 x 480p, 720 x 576p, 640x480 60Hz, 800x600 60Hz, 1024x768 60Hz).

Using XBMC 9.10 the system startup at 720x576p and i'm able to choose resolution of 1920x1080i (so it is recognized by the hardware).

The Asus barebone is connected trough a HDMI to DVI cable since the Philips TV has only DVI-I input as digital.

The problem is that every resolution i choose more than 720x576p i can only see the upper left corner of the choosed resolution up to 720x576p; so in the case of 1920x1080i i could see only about a quarter of the screen (the upper left). Could it be a kind of overscan?

In XBMC 9.11 alpha 1 and alpha 2 i could only select resolution up to 720x576p.

Has anyone experienced the same problem as mine and solved it?

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thankyou!
