There is no way to edit the database directy from within XBMC.
This plus the plethora of external meida managers might give you some hints.

Yeah i didnt mean in XBMC, i mean theres probably some .xml files somewhere which i need to edit, but i cant find them. The import-export is too weird, i dont understand it at all. I imported the database to 1 file and tried to edit it, but it didnt contain the same info than what i see in XBMC. For example plots for movies were different in the XML and in XBMC Huh Plus when I exported it back, I lost some thumbnails and fanart I had manually put there earlier

what do you mean by "external media managers"?
Havent heard of them

look a little below the import export section and read about nfo file support.

There is a complete section here on the forum dedicated to these programs:

thanks for that!

I DL'd Media Companion. When I edit the info, it successfully saves the new info in the .nfo file. But when I update the library in XBMC, nothing changes there, I still see the old infoHuh

What am I doing wrong now?

i'm not sure if xbmc detects changes in .nfo files?
you can manually refresh the info for each individual movie, check if that works.

Check out XBNE in the supplementary tools section - does a great job of editing nfos AND XBMC database directly Smile
