CD Playback only plays first 30 seconds of each track
#1
Guys,

I'm running XBMC 9.11 Beta 1, on Jaunty on my Zotac Ion box. I have a DVD drive connected via USB. If I put an audio CD into the drive and press play I find that only the first 30 seconds of each track is played, then the next track is played and it stops after 30 seconds and so on.

Debug log is at: http://pastebin.com/m2483d4ac. The suspicous lines are at the end:

07:36:34 T:2974567312 M:3039948800 INFO: AudioDecoder: File is queued
07:36:36 T:3019365264 M:3039875072 ERROR: file cdda: Reading 52 sectors of audio data starting at lsn 19802 failed
07:36:36 T:3019365264 M:3039875072 INFO: CFileCache:Tonguerocess - Hit eof.

After which I press stop on the remote. Is this a bug or something wrong with my config?

Cheers,

james

I'm bumping this because I just did an install of Camelot on a minimal Karmic system and I'm getting the same problem.

Am I the only one doing this or has anyone else tried inserting an audio CD and playing it? Do you only get the first 30 or so seconds of audio of each track?

I don't want to raise a ticket unless someone else has verified that it also happens to them.

Linux Distro: Karmic Koala, Kernel Rev 2.6.31-16
Architecture: i686
XBMC Version: 9.11 (r26018) installed via PPA
Skin: Transparency! 2.11
Installed on Ion platform with CD/DVD drive connected via USB

Can't replicate here, only optical drives I have are SATA though. You might wanna check system logs for device or driver errors.

Thanks for the info. I won't get a chance to try this until tomorrow but will post my results to the forum.

Bumping this because I just upgraded to the PPA build 27017 and it still happens. Am I the only person who still plays CDs? Is it particular to a drive connected via USB?

Bumping this again because I just tried the Dharma beta and it still does it. Once again, am I the only person who has noticed this?
