IMDb blocks XBMC

Question
OK, so I have read the Wiki twice and a whole lot of posts without any luck.

I have an external hard drive with nothing but just movie in MPG format.

How can I add them all to the library?

Nothing I try seems to work, I can manually add them one by one but that is slow, and for some reason the scraper stopped working also, can't even get info for recent stuff, when I say scan for new content it just says "compressing database" and doesn't actually download anything.

Help would be appreciated

PS. I did try the set content, automated scan, recursive scan. movie info...

Nothing works

What type of share protocol are you using? Library does not support Upnp. Use SMB.

Is there something wrong with the scrapers? Everything has been working perfectly for months now, but I can't seem to get it to find "Dances With Wolves" on IMDB...

It still seems to be allowing me to view thumbs on IMDB though... but now I've tried searching for different movies, and it won't find them... weird.

I have the same problem - Started at around 6pm CST. I switched scrappers and it works just not on IMDB

CFileCurl::CReadState::Open, didn't get any data from stream.

In my log on every scan. I suspect this has something to do with imdb changing something/

that's why I completely changed from imdb to tmdb
OpenElec Standalone --> Asus Chromebox 'Panther' --> Onkyo TX-NR709 --> Sony 55" X85C Android TV (also with Kodi!)
Asus Chromebox EZ Script
Kodi on Sony Bravia Android TVs

The imdb.com scraper stopped working for me yesterday afternoon and has not worked since. Other scrapers work (for example the movie db is working). I'm running the latest XBMC (Mac OS X. Built on Dec 23 2009 (SVN:26018))

Log is here: http://pastebin.com/m3cbab225 showing a working tmdb and a non-working imdb.

I've tried scanning imdb with entire folder and manually with individual movies and it doesn't work. It just keeps coming back to me and asking me for an updated movie name.

Any help would be appreciated.

I found this problem this morning. IMDb have made a change which is causing the scraper to fail, I guess. Sad

I have tried putting an .nfo on the share with the IMDb URL in it with no success - it still repeatedly prompts for the movie name.

I am having an issue with movies no longer 'adding' to my library during/after a scan.

See http://pastebin.com/mbb26a30 for the log with errors around line 686 related to this issue (i.e. where I in my extremely limited log file knowledge start to see this problem). Cool

Mission Impossible I/ II/III (amongst ~14 others) do not show up in my library view, only file view... Currently this happens to all subsequent movies I attempt to add (i.e the last 17 movies I moved into this folder).

Error Code Samples:
The error showing at line 686 of my PasteBin log is " ERROR: CFileCurl::CReadState::Open, didn't get any data from stream. " Back at the end of line 685 it also says " DEBUG: XFILE::CFileCurl::CReadState::FillBuffer: curl failed with code 22 " for the movie 'A Man Apart'... "failed with code 22" sounding rather ominous!?!?

Other than reading through the forums for the last ~4hours with every search I could think of and checking and re-checking that all my settings are correct I have also:
---looked through the cache directory and this seems to be clearing properly
---recognise that I could delete/rename the myvideos34.db file in case it is corrupt, but would like to figure out the issue causing the movies to fail to show-up in the library, instead of deleting/renaming the .db file and losing my watched settings

System setup
Client running XBMC:
Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2/Intel Core2 Duo [email protected] GHz/8GB RAM/ATi Radeon HD 4670

Server hosting files for client running XBMC:
Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2/Intel QuadCore [email protected] GHz/8GB RAM/ATi Radeon HD 4650

Cheers!

IMDB is blocking XBMC. I just fired up wireshark to check what was happening. IMDB is responding with "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden".

You can see it for yourself by using the User Agent switcher plugin for Firefox and setting the UA to "XBMC/9.11 r26018 (Linux; Ubuntu 9.10; Linux 2.6.31-16-generic; SVN r26018; http://www.xbmc.org)". This results in a fairly generic Access denied page talking about robots, and links to http://www.imdb.com/help/show_article?conditions .

Hrm, apparently as a new user off-site links cause a post to be black-holed into moderation land.

Anyway, IMDB is blocking XBMC. If you use wireshark to watch the transaction you'll see IMDB respond to all requests with "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden". You can see this in action by using the Firefox UserAgent switching plugin and setting the UA to anything that contains "XBMC".
