Out of curiosity, are you running Kaspersky or another firewall?

I just had this with a fresh install of the latest XBMC for Windows.

I copied the dll from the Directx redistribute to the XBMC directory and it works a treat. No nead to reinstall Directx. Took a while to get it all in though.

Hosted it here.

The webinstaller included in the XBMC installer doesn't "reinstall" DirectX it just updates the needed components to the latest available version (plus installs the missing dll).
We still need to find out why the webinstaller doesn't work for some setups (or if the user disables it or has a firewall running)
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

In C:\Windows\Logs you should find a file called DirectX.log. This is the install log from the DirectX installer. If you pop this on pastebin.com we can have a look and see if there is anything obviously wrong.

The web installer can also be used instead of downloading the whole 100mb file provided by the link above. I'll include the link below:

Also, I couldn't get it to install even though I updated. Does anyone know the problem?
