I've been testing XBMC for a week or so on my Windows XP desktop PC and have used an official Microsoft MCE remote and receiver (1.0A) which has worked really well.

Today I've set up a Acer Revo 3610, but I the same receiver and remote do not seem to be working. I've installed 9.11 Live to a 4gb USB stick, which is booting fine, etc.

I haven't fiddled with any settings yet, as I'm pretty much a noob and I'm not sure were to start. I've looked for a guide to setting up the remote but haven't come across one that seems applicable.

Would someone be able to point me in the right direction?

Super noob alert!

After 3 hours odd of trying to find solutions, I pulled out the ir receiver in case it was positioned wrongly.

It was positioned fine, it just turns out I'd plugged in my PS3 camera rather than the infrared receiver. arrrrrggggggggh, doh!

That's 3 hours, I'll never get back.
