1080p HDMI, XBMC, Hulu, WiFi - Under 200$: Possible?
#1
I purchased an Acer Aspire Revo 1600 recently, I am considering returning it because I am thinking that I really will eventually use Hulu to stream some tv shows.

So now im wondering if its possible to get 1080p HDMI, XBMC, and Hulu for under 200.

Maybe the BoxeeBox will be able to do this if we can port XBMC to Arm, but who knows how long that could take.

Or, should I look into building my own system? would that allow me to get it under 200$? With building my own system, I may then be able to add the Broadcom Crystal HD card to it in the future.

Lastly, should I just hold out for a little while, and wait for some better hardware suited to xbmc needs comes out?

Without just building another uglier revo, probably not.
Something thats not an atom and SFF gets pretty hard to do under $350..

With the newest NV beta drivers and the 10.1 flash? What was your CPU%? windowed and full screen. And did you try standard and High Res?

Might just be to much for the 1600 though.

This is about the only first hand account I can find that shows that it should work.

Most comments seem to dismiss the 1600 as still being to weak even with the ion doing the lifting.

im on ubuntu, so maybe ill have to install windows 7 and see how it goes. Im also going to add another gig of ram to get up to 2gig.

The revo that I have has the ION LE, can i use the regular ION drivers with it, not the ION LE drivers?

And one other question, I just updated to the lastest 195.30 nvidia drivers, and now all my videos play like they are in slow motion, any ideas?
