Hi,
my videos are stored in that way:
videos
- movie 1
-- movie1.avi/mkv/whatever
- movie 2
-- movie1.avi/mkv/whatever

my xbmc catches the correct fanart and information.
when i browse the folders in "movies" no fanart is showing in the background, only the poster. when i enter the folder and select the file directly the fanart is showing up in the background and everything is fine.
what do i have to change to connect the folder with the fanart instead of the file?

Looks like you may be viewing in 'file' mode - change to 'library' mode and everything should appear as expected.

Works.
But now some folders are not listed in videos or tv-shows.
i flagged "dexter" as a show and its not listed in videos but in tvshows.
i flagged 2 other folders with tvshows but they're not listed in videos or tvshows.

I am having the same issue and I have Library mode toggled. Does it matter that the Library is on another PC? I am accessing through SMB. The videos play fine, each in their own folder with a folder.jpg, background.jpg and dvdid.xml. I have removed and rescanned several times, but I am not sure why I need to use a scrapper if I have all these files accompanying the video file. I get no fanart. Just a random image from the video.
