CPlayListPtr means null shared ptr, i.e. no playlist.
The Playlist is not to be used for playing anymore, at some point it might be that again but needs lots of core redesign for it to work properly (in discussion).
For playing stuff use AudioPlaylist or VideoPlaylist, they should be considered extended Playlists or a special case of them, should have roughly the same features though
