XBMC Linux (Ubuntu Karmic x86_64) UPnP won't browse
#1
Hi

I've just installed XBMC on a clean Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) x86_64 installation using the PPA sources (1:9.11-karmic1).

I want to set it up to access my TwonkyMedia server (on a WD My Book NAS Unit), but when I go to browse UPnP sources, it doesn't show anything. I know my Twonky server is fine, because I have XBMC on my XBox and it works fine.

I'm aware of a similar thread ( http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=64822 ), but that seems to be related to using XBMC as the server, whereas I'm just using it as a client.

Is this likely to be related, or could there be something I've missed?

Thanks

Simon

I should add that I've loaded UPnP inspector to the same PC and it sees my media server instantly, so I see it as an XBMC issue rather than a PC network config issue.

I have a PlayOn server I'm trying to access. My PS3 sees it fine as does my original XBox, but not my ubuntu amd64 frontend.

same here.

Have a Jaunty box with Ushare here, and a Karmic desktop box (64bit) with XBMC.

Karmic is aware of Ushare - UPnP Inspector proofed - but XBMC is not.

There are no UPnP sources I can browse, from XBMC.
