Hello all, I want to change the home screen icons to the ones shown in the video. Ive downloaded them but for the life of me I cant find the ones that should be overwritten in the skins/alaska folder. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? OR maybe I'm missing something?

any help is really appreciated

They're stored in ../Alaska/media/homeicons

very strange. When i look in MY homeicons folder (/media/homeicons/)

i see fallback.png and readme.txt. thats it. No other png files...

yeah, they are not there by default, just copy them into that folder

When i copy them to that folder, what are the names supposed to be? I ask because i tried copying the files from the 'customicons' archive to that folder and the homeicons didn't change. So I'm assuming they need to have specific names.

Still very strange. When i copy the files directly out of the rar file posted. They have the same names as in the post above. But when I restart xbmc, i don't see the icons change. IS there some other setting i need to change or should this be all that's required?

Readme message? not sure what your talking about. Do you mean the readme.txt?

here's what i did

1. open the folder Alaska/Media/Homeicons.
2. Copy the files from the customicons arhive (i.e. extracted them first then copied) directly into that folder
3. Start XBMC, with alsaska as the active skin already.

After doing that, i still see the original icons that the skin was installed with. Am i missing something?

There are no icons to start with; sounds like you haven't changed the style.

You go to settings>>alaska(lower right corner)>>then select home in the bottom bar>>then select home style 2

Is there any way to keep the functionality of home style 1 when you can scroll through sub-menus of each main menu in home style 2?
