[WINDOWS] Standby and Resume with Logitech Harmony
#1
Didn't see a definitive thread on this.

Acer Aspire Revo
Windows 7
Microsoft MCE Remote and IR Receiver
GOAL: To get the Revo to standby when changing activities on the Harmony and come out of standby when selecting the XBMC activity.

1) BIOS - set state to S3 and Wake on USB Keyboard/Mouse to Enabled
2) Install XBMC
3) Set XBMC Shutdown for Standby instead of Shutdown
4) Set key in registry to enable Wake on USB in Windows 7
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usb
"USBBIOSx"=DWORD:00000000
5) Add "MCE Keyboard" device to Harmony Remote (Computers/Microsoft/MCE Keyboard)
6) Map Keys as necessary (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Global_Keyboard) and (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Videos_Keyboard)
7) IMPORTANT: Go into Devices/Settings(For your MCE Keyboard)/Adjust Power Settings. Select "I want to turn off this device when it's not in use" and "A button on the remote for ON and a different button for OFF". Then map "PowerToggle" for ON and "End" for OFF.
5) Add an activity with the device just created

The biggest part that threw me was step 7. The MCE keyboard won't take the Revo out of standby unless the Power key is pressed - no other key works.
