Freezing problem, confused from debug in xbmc.log

Exclamation
Hi all, I seem to have a problem that happens often. I asked in #xbmc and they recommended me to try the forums. Here's what happens: I play one mkv file and then hit stop, move to another mkv file and when i hit play, it will freeze. Sometimes this won't happen till the 2nd or 3rd mkv that I play.

Here's the crashlog with debug enabled:

Some people have suggested it could be due to a deadlock. Please if you have any suggestions or tips or anything you would like me to try , let me know. I got addicted to xbmc but this problem is killing me.

I am using ubuntu 9 karmic koala and the xbmc stable in synaptic (xbmc 9.11 R26018 Compiled: Dec 24, 2009). Thanks again, any help appreciated!

Reinstall your video drivers, and make sure you have VDPAU installed.

*edit* Nevemind.

ATI doesn't support VDPAU, so it is unrelated. Recommended Hardware

Hey cowfodder, this is bad Sad

So it looks like since ATI doesn't support VDPAU, I will have to go with VAAPI

Ok, it looks like I can't do VAAPI because although VAAPI supports ATI cards, VAAPI only supports cards with UVD2 (ati 4000 and up)

My radeon 3000 doesn't support UVD2 so therefore it won't support VAAPI Sad

I don't know what to do now, maybe i should buy an nvidia card? I pretty much need to get a good enough nvidia video card that can display 720p content, preferably one that is not extremely expensive and supports audio + video over hdmi...

what do you guys think of the 8400 gs : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814141106 or any other video card suggestions

No idea if it would freeze on windows. No way to tell. But from your log it didn't freeze on start of playback of a file, but when you where attempting to stop playback??
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Yes elupus, to recreate the freezing, what I do is open up an mkv file, stop it, open up another one and usually when i stop the 2nd or 3rd mkv file, it will freeze. Very weird...

Someone suggested i add a few things:

1) terminal output:

mainframe@mainframe:~$ xbmc
WARNING: Unhandled message: interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Introspectable, path=/, member=Introspect

2) crashlog:
