Unicode ÅÄÖåöä support
#1
Atm XBMC dont support nothing more than US letters, where north european uses various different letters like åöäÅÖÄ and such. It would be nice to have atleast these carachters support for filenames and qwerty.
#2
we support unicode filenames just fine.
#3
Latest xbmc for xbox, renames all the öäå letters into A_ and such, so not suported. Then viewing filenames in videos shows the same result A_ on ä and O_ for ö.
#4
fat-x (the horror of a filesystem used on the xbox) does not support unicode.
#5
is there workaround ie giving symbols that xbmc would then rename those symbols to letter similar like in html?
#6
no. don't store stuff on fat-x. problem solved.
#7
FAT-X might only support ASCII characters (that is between bytecode between 32 and 127, therefore no accented characters), each file / directory name is limited to 42 characters, including the extension...
