Very strange connection issues
#1
I am having a problem connecting over my home network-- I/O Exception No route to host. However, I can connect just fine to the same computer if I go through my external IP and have my router forward the request to the correct computer/port. I have triple checked all setting and can't find the issue.

Very strange and probably my fault, just makes no sense to me Huh

HTC Hero-2.1
Android Remote 0.7.1
Win7 Pro
xbmc r28256

EDIT: I just tried setting up the remote with my aTV, same issue where I can connect from my external IP but not my home network. Is this a router issue somehow, or have a missed a critical step somewhere?

Connecting from your desktop PC works? For example
Code:
http://xbmc:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=GetSystemInfo(120;121)
should display version and build date.
Running XBMC on my HTPC, tablet, phone and pinball machine.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forums before posting. Do NOT e-mail Team-XBMC members asking for support. For troubleshooting and bug reporting, make sure you read this first.
