How can I stream live TV?
#1
I want to stream live tv to an xbox for a reason I wont bore you with.

I have currently tried orb over upnp, regular videos work and live tv works from my PC, but it fails on the xbox with either nothing happening or an generic error message showing up.

Does anyone know of a way to get this working or an alternative method.

My PC is running windows 7 x86-64 and it needs to support DVB-T.

Thank you.

Here's my log:

It seems to start at around live 1244.

I see your build is from January 17.

I would recommend updating your XBMC and try again - use T3CH Upgrader script (http://www.xbmczone.com/plugin_details.asp?id=126), it allows you to download a new build (T3CH or SSHCS) and install is in a separate location, allowing to transfer your UserData (or not, for a fresh build). That way you can try it before you make it your default dashboard.

ok, I just tried a vanilla version of the latest t3ch build and it now crashes the system when I attempt to add the upnp server or even when I copied over the userdata from the backup it would crash when loading the list.

Here is a new log using the vanilla version where the only modification done is enabling debug logging and attempting to load the upnp server:

The older build loads fine apart from the previously mentioned issue.

I would try with a nightly SSHCS build before you rule out the newer builds...

Also might want to try streaming the video through VLC...

thanks for the help so far.

The latest nightly build has the same issue (same error as before).

I tried VLC, it seems to be a pain though with me requiring to know the frequency for every channel and set it up manually. Where as I want something simple and easy to switch channels with.

I should say I live in the UK where we have Freeview as our FTA DVB-T service.

Ok, maybe the link wasn't for what you wanted, but if you run VLC and go for Media > Streaming > Capture Device and play with that you might get what you wanted...

That's all I got - otherwise feel free to log a ticket with the debug log from the latest T3CH here at the new project location:
