[RELEASE] Transmission-XBMC Addon - a Transmission BitTorrent Client Control for XBMC
#1
Thumbs Up
Transmission-XBMC

An XBMC addon for the Transmission BitTorrent client

Features
Currently, Transmission-XBMC supports viewing, adding, removing, starting and stopping torrents. More advanced features may be added in future releases.

Downloads
Downloads are available at http://github.com/correl/Transmission-XBMC
The released version is for stable XBMC 9.11, for recent svn builds you should instead clone the xbmc-svn branch from the repo into your plugins directory.

Be sure to check the script configuration if your Transmission daemon is running on another machine, using a different port or requires authentication.

Special thanks to Amet for upgrading the script to work on xbmc-svn

well, basically, it's possible, but coders are differents and sometimes don't know each others !

possible but will get be a little more complicated to adapt.

Hey dude, I'm trying to get the xbmc-svn version down, but I can't figure out how. Could someone show me the command I have to run? I'm running Linux.

This'll clone the xbmc-svn branch directly into your addons folder:
Code:
git clone git://github.com/correl/Transmission-XBMC.git -b xbmc-svn ~/.xbmc/addons/script.transmission
Of course, if you've already cloned the repo and just need to switch branches, cd into the addon directory and run:
Code:
git checkout xbmc-svn

I'll likely get around to submitting it to the xbmc addon repository this weekend.

I've just got around to installing this plugin. I enabled the menu option Programs (I'm running Confluence), went into it, and selected Transmission. XBMC then became completely unresponsive and I had to kill xbmc and xbmc.bin to get it back.

Not sure if this is my build or the plugin. I'm running revision 31632. Any help with this would be good.

It's possible that it's hung trying to connect to Transmission, as the script does not yet provide any feedback that it's busy trying to talk to transmission, and also doesn't handle connection failure yet (the script will exit with an error once the connection attempt fails). These are both things I plan to address in my next update.

For now, you may want to check to see if anything is preventing you from connecting to your Transmission machine on the configured port or causing connection timeouts.

Looks great! Now I can monitor transmission in my NAS from XBMC. Laugh
Would you add Korean language xml to you addon?

Quote:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>

<string id="0">Transmission</string>

<!-- Buttons -->
<string id="101">추가</string>
<string id="102">삭제</string>

<string id="105">전체 일시정지</string>
<string id="106">전체 시작</string>
<string id="107">나가기</string>

<!-- Settings -->

The Debug Log will have useful information in it. If you installed it via the addon manager it should work fine. If you installed it manually, then you may not have the required simplejson library.

EDIT: Note that you shouldn't alter settings.xml manually yourself - use the addon manager to set settings.

Cheers,
Jonathan
