The Helix branch of my fork still works for me on Isengard beta 2.
guandms, this sounds like a skin or settings issue to me, I think your skin doesn't even look for the fanart, search for a fanart path setting somewhere in your skin's music library view
meowmoo, interesting! I'll check the popup when the final Isengard is released, sometimes such issues resolve themselves
Currently I'm a little busy jumping out of planes to get my skydiving license this summer but ... given that I survive haha ... I'm considering a cleanup and re-release this fall if anyone is interested, brave enough and willing to help me test it.
Considering Giftie seems to have fallen off the face of the planet since the Helix release, I'd say "Go for it". This add-on is pretty much an essential, and I personally don't see Martijn adding the features contained in cdART Manager to Artwork Downloader while there is a chance that either Giftie may return, or as is the case, someone else has taken up the mantle.
Considering this isn't the first time the baton has changed hands either with this add-on, or others on Kodi, you should have no reservations about doing so if that's what you want to do. But be wary of promising to support this if at a later date you decide that's not an option any longer.
Personally, while I like cdART Manager for it's features and what it brings to the table, it's use and UI is a bit clunky, and dated. There are also options which are vague and unclear as to what their purpose is to someone new to the addon. This is the area that could use the most improvement. Also, the fact that once you initiate a scan you are "tied-in" to the UI and cannot do anything else in Kodi, is less than desirable (given the length of the scans in certain cases).
I for one would be very interested in testing anything you manage to cook up in the future.
