Hi, I'm attempting to install xbmc onto my old computer and since I have zero experience with Linux, went for the live cd. When I boot from the cd using either nvidia, ati or intel options, aswell as installing to HDD, I just get the message
"pwconv: failed to change the mode of /etc/passwd- to 0600"
then it requests a login, occasionally saying:
"*Restarting OpenBSD Secure Shell Server sshd"
I was hoping that it would be as simple as popping in the cd and getting straight into xbmc. If anyone could advise it would be greatly appreciated, can't wait to get a slick media center up and running.
Processor: AMD Athlon x2 3800+
GPU: ATi Radeon x800
Motherboard: DFI lanparty UT CFX3200-DR
