After installing these fixes I do get access to some of the things that were previously broken so thank you for that. Still having problems with one of my favorite part of this add-on though. When I go to "explore youtube" and then to "movies" I only get "romance films", "science fiction films" and "LGBT films", but selecting any of these results in an extremely long lag time and never comes up with either an error or any results. I am just forced to cancel.

Is anyone out there able to see a full list of movie genres and to browse them or is it just me? This has been a problem for me with this add-on for months now, with no solution in sight.

When going into movie wall and trying to play trailer with youtube plugin, it says:
Playback failed
Invalid paramter
Any ideas?

Tried everything from deleting the existing files from cache and addons folders in the userprofile and database.

Manually installed the Youtube plugin from the ZIP file in Frodo Alpha5 and also in Eden, the script downloader addon automatically follows or precedes the Youtube Addon.

I have two factor authorizartion enabled on my google account , due to being configrued on my android phone as well. When the addon was working fine, it gave me a numerical entry window for me to enter the secret code generated on the android device, and it was working perfectly after that.

Now I gave my gmail username and password, and then tried to start the plugin, and it keep loading the directory items for ever.

Have tried re-deleting and reinstalling all the mentioned items from the previous posts, nothing seems to work.

Any ideas, when can it work or when can we expect a stable release of the addon.

I tried this today... search is broken, The keyboard window opens and hangs for a while - It will come back, but it does not allow remote navigation/entry. When using a keyboard entry works but search does nothing, literally.

Could not reproduce this. I have a search feature working as expected. And even if there was a bug, my changes don't touch search capabilities of plugin at all

Seems to work with video playing again.

However the "age verify" videos are still not playing, even with the fix of code in YouTubeCore.py that was mention in this forum.

Could you give me a link to any of such videos, maybe I can fix this problem too?

These have been unusable for quite some time.

Looking at the YouTube pages relating to this material it looks like the interface pages to the movies, etc., have changed considerably since those parts of the addon were last maintained.

Further, the way the movies are delivered defeats a Flash downloader browser addon I have installed that works fine for run-of-mill YouTube videos, which suggests other changes that haven't been tracked either by that downloader or the XBMC YouTube plugin.

IMHO these options should be removed if they're not going to be maintained - and there is no sign they are being maintained in the stable release.

For anyone wondering what changed, here's a diff.

I have pre-Frodo Alpha Aug-12 installed.

Can you please guide the exact steps to do the fix. Do i need to first install the latest youtube from the XBMC repository, then overwrite them with the two addon files provided by anteo. Or do I uninstall the plugins and delete the cache files to install from ZIP files. I am totally confused and have tried almost all the ways but it does not log in and work. I have two factor authorization enabled on the google account.

Since you have made it work, can you please guide me the exact steps.

I can't seem to install this on apple tv 1 gen Eden says "dependencies not met" for both. I also notice that my youtube addon for the apple tv 1 version is 2.9.0 and not 3.1.0 and I can't upgrade any further. Does this addon no longer support apple tv 1?

I've tried your files and, while they work great on my windows box, my crystalbuntu box is having trouble logging into my account. Could the fact I have two-factor authentication be an issue? It doesn't prompt me to put in an authenticator pin and gives me a failed login prompt.

You have to have a separate password for accounts like this. Go to this page and create an application specific password.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately turning on 2 step verification and creating a password for XBMC Windows does not work in my case. I tried using my YouTube name, the YouTube ID, Google name with and without @gmail and still get a dreaded login fail. Also used the new application specific password and my original Google password with no luck.

Howdy!

Having a weird issue with the youtube plugin. Seems I am able to view other things using the VEVO plugin, but the past few days the youtubes have not been kind to me. I go to attempt to play something that has worked in the past, and it fails. Attempt to play something through "My Uploads", and it fails. Per the instructions, I have enabled Debug Logging (for the youtube plugin), recreated the failure, grabbed the whole log from my VCR, uploaded to xbmclogs http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=8795 and am trying to determine what is the haps.

Again, this only recently started (past few days, but I just got back from out of town), so I know not if something was changed mystically while I was away. Any advice on what I may be looking at would be appreciated. Many thanks!
