Release [depricated] old YouTube Plugin - XBMC 13.0 Frodo/Gotham only
Robotica Wrote:Excellent plugin!!

The situation untill this plugin is written in this article. It also shows a great feature I would love to see in this plugin:
Youtube Disco support.

I've just got a "proof of concept" working so seems doable, added to the todo Smile

Now to find a nice discoball icon Big Grin
Is there any way to hit "play all" for a playlist in my account? Don't want to manually queue them after I already did on YouTube.com. Don't see an option currently.

Great addon! Thanks for your efforts Smile

The playlist should have a "Queue folder" context menu option, then you only have to start playback..
awesome thanks for the quick reply!
mighty_bombero, you around?
does your xbox version support RTMPe? have you tried to find 4oD content?
http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=604...stcount=51
i can't get it to show up
lots of ERROR reasonCode: [limitedSyndication] Syndication of this video was restricted by its owner.
in logs, related to missing shows perhaps?

It's not my code but as far as i remember, limitedSyndication error are merely a warning we write out to the log to tell ourselves that certain videos were removed from the result set cause the user wouldn't be able to access them anyway.. we're basically trying to remove YouTube's annoying habit of showing you video results that are unavailable to you.. It' might be that youtube thinks you're located outside the UK since 4oD's content is geo-locked to that region..

But without a log it will be difficult to know..
thanks here's a log
http://pastebin.org/878270

as you can see there's two results, both are just short trailers not the show.
this was the search suggested in the 4oD thread linked above.

my region in plugin settings is Great Britain. i am in the UK.

i really feel i must be doing something retarded.
er i'm assuming the youtube search isn't case sensitive?

Looking through the log you're searching for
"peep show 4odcomedy"

If you enter that query on youtube (linky link: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_qu...omedy&aq=f) it suggests that you search for:
"peep show 4od comedy"
with a space between "4oD" and "comedy"

Try and see if that query works better..
ok i search for "peep show 4od comedy":

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_qu...omedy&aq=f

I can see series 5 episodes DO show up there near the bottom, posted by ahunter1973 and they work in my web browser no problem.

they do not show up in the plugin for me though, using exact same search. there is only one page of results.

12 syndication errors in plugin log..

i have tried all the plugin options now (country, feed period, max res)
Dharma Beta1
Ubuntu 10.04

I'm having bufferproblems, out of sync problems and lag problems.

Are these known issues? nukas youtubescript worked fine (unless for some VEVO-videos ofc Tongue ) so I'm guessing either youtube did something or maybe it could be a bug or something (hoping for the latter so it can be fixed).

Do you need any logs I'll be happy to provide them!

replied in your other thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=81382

but i'll repost the answer here:

Quote:Dharma beta 2 is out you should try upgrading, but must say I've only had issues with lag on SD videos. Anything 720p and above playback is usually smooth, but you have to have a reasonable machine to handle the playback demands, although YouTube doesn't exactly deliver blu-ray quality 1080p streams they do require a certain amount of processing power..

I will say one place there's always problems is playback of the first 4 seconds of a 1080p stream on my macbook, but then the playback quickly catches up and its smooth sailing from there Big Grin

And i'll just add that playback is handled entirely within xbmc, we only server over a url but we would of course like a log of the problem with the plugin's debug setting enabled just in case you've stumbled across anything new Smile

What video quality are you trying to play? what kind of machine are we dealing with (does it have enough cpu power and or hardware acceleration? ), is there any other activity on the network when you're attempting to play the video?..
This looks like a great way of keeping on demand services on XBMC, but I cannot for the life of me log in.

I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled etc but every time I get IOERROR message. My debug is here:

http://pastebin.ca/1943875

Any help getting this fixed would be great. I'm on XBMCFreak's live install, a pretty new SVN so hopefully this is not the issue.

Thanks

It probably is, please update to the latest beta as we won't support outdated svn builds ( the build you're running is over a month old (rev 32696) and we know earlier versions (like 2 week ago) had SSL problems which messed up login.)

That should fix the problem Smile
@ HenrikDK,

Thanks. I've spent ages getting things just right, adding favorites, icons etc to Alaska, downloading the addons I want... If I update to the newest XBMCFreak CD I will overwrite everything wont I? So will have to start again adding the bits I've added, iPlayer, ITV Catch up etc?

I've run sudo apt-get upgrade and update, but this hasn't updated my XBMC.

Can anyone confirm XBMCFreak Beta 2 will wipe my old install and I'll have to add everything again? I'll prob leave it until official Dharma if that is the case.

Thanks

I'm unfamiliar with that release of XBMC, usually an upgrade of xbmc won't destroy all you're settings but i dont know how the XBMCFreak cd works it's upgrade magic. Oo
