HenrikDK Wrote:Actually no one has asked for that before, I looked into it and it does seem youtube sends us this information (it's only a "is HD" flag though)

but im not sure how to get xbmc to do this, so far our attempts at getting xbmc to do multiple overlays (watched and download status) have been less than stellar.

Doesn't AMT (Apple Movie Trailer) add-on use overlays ?

Got another idea, I know youtube started supporting timestamps in URL, couldn't this be used for resuming ?

#t=<seconds>s I reckon it is, rightclick on a video on youtube to see it in action

I don't follow.

The timestamp could only ever be used with the chrome/firefox extensions, as far as i can see, and i don't really see any use in that.

Do I suck so bad at explaining ? Open this URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...pyc#t=302s

Notice how it jumps to the position I told it to, Could this not be used to resume playback of a long video ?

Does this only work with FF/Chrome ? Gonna try it in IE now

Edit: worked just as well in IE. And I'm not surprised

Yes, i understand the timestamp, and how it works.

What is it you want done with the timestamp?

You have not in any way explained what you want to use it for. Yes it is there, yes it exists, yes you can link with it.. And?

ETA: The timestamp is not a new feature on youtube. It's been there for a looong time!
OK...

IF you stop a video in XBMC, you can resume it when you play it again. Can we add this for Youtube videos also ? (and use the timestamp feature)

Hi pike, we dont embed a flash player inside xbmc, we just resolve the stream url (which doesnt contain any "start from" or "stop at" information.) From our point of view it's xbmc thats missing the ability to remember playback position on video items in our plugin. I think this happens because we replace the url at playback time, but im not quite sure.

If i stop a youtube video during playback, and then restart it. It asks me if i want to resume at the previous point. Just like it does for every other video.

Note: XBMC apparantly fails with actually seeking to the correct point in the stream. But that is purely an XBMC issue.

pike Wrote:(and use the timestamp feature)
This still make no sense. The timestamp can only be set in a link in a browser.

You at no point ever give our plugin a url with a timestamp in it. And even if you did, the timestamp would in no way affect the video stream we get from youtube. The timestamp is solely a value that tells the flash player how far into the stream to seek. Nothing more, nothing less.

This value will never be set for any links the plugin visits.
Sorry guys, didn't know it was just a flashplayer feature

Well, in any case stop/resume should work on youtube videos just fine. Any issues you may have with it is an XBMC issue. I suggest you make a trac.
TobiasTheCommie Wrote:You should take it up with the OpenELEC people.

What does openelec have to do with an ATV (or python 2.6 according to http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=939...tcount=627 ) issue?
ATV2 4.3 8F455 Seas0npassed / XBMC 11
Samsung HT-P70 5.1 / Samsung WS-32Z419P

Oh sorry. In that case, file a trac with XBMC on the ssl bug on ATV.
