Dharma: Blu-Ray/HD-DVD ISO support (UDF 2.5/2.6)?
#1
According to the Dharma Milestone on Trac, the following was added: "Added support for unencrypted Blu-ray Disc playback (via libbluray and libbdnav) without menus"

What does that mean exactly? It doesn't mention ISO or disc image, it just says Blu-Ray disc playback, which leads me to believe that if I popped in a unencrypted blu-ray disc or mounted an ISO, XBMC will pick it up and play it. However, XBMC won't parse an ISO file with UDF 2.5+, which is standard for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD ISOs.

I searched Trac and found this ticket, which seems to suggest that the changes were patched into the XBMC source, but the milestone is listed as "Future/Pending".

I've confirmed that this (Blu-Ray ISO playback) does not work on the latest Dharma nightlies, can anyone shed some light onto this?

I guess there will never be a gpl bluray player that is properly lincenced ...
There was never a proper lincenced glp player for dvd's as well.

My understanding is that Dharma will not play Bluray disks or ISO images of disks. However it will play video ripped from Bluray.

I don't have any more info about iso support, but I will say that it's a non-issue for me because all of my iso's have been converted to mkv's with http://www.makemkv.com

Hope you find this info helpful.
