XBMC USB sleep/wakeup
#1
I am using the Dharma beta on XBMC Live on an Acer Revo and since upgrading I can't get my remote to wake the Revo. It puts it to sleep but can't wake it.

I have followed this guide http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Enable_Wake-On-Device but am now stumped. It worked on the previous stable version (9.11) but not on the Dharma build. Any help would be appreciated.

It is supposed to be (note the spaces)

echo USB0 > /proc/acpi/wakeup

OR

echo USB0>/proc/acpi/wakeup

I had the same problem, but followed the link in this thread and now my remote is working like it should be.

The simpler way to fix it is to upgrade the kernel that came with the Dharma live-cd beta a notch.

... see two posts earlier in same thread Flomaster mentioned :

A patch got let into the earlier kernel releases that addressed a problem some people were having with other USB devices bringing machines out of S3 sleep unintentionally. Unfortunately the patch also blocked remote control tranceivers.

It's been rectified in 2.6.32-25

Took two minutes to apply to my Revo 3600 with MCE IR remote, and worked a treat - the rest of the setup didn't need any changes to deal with the update.

I upgraded my kernel to 2.6.32-25 and I was able to resume from standby but I had to add that script I mentioned fixed my problem because the fans would kick on, but nothing on my tv until I added that script.

so yeah upgrade your kernel first see if it works, if not add that script , also added the grub line to get rid of boot errors that slowed down my boot up.

Yeah - the Zotac boards always seem to need a little more attention when it comes to remote issues Wink

I only piped up with my reply because I noticed the original poster had a Revo, same as me, so might not neccessarily have to take the extra steps.
