I made a Mod (still in beta) that let's you add nearly everything to the home submenus.
So how does it work? Go to Settings->Skin Settings->Menu and you can activate deactivate Submenus as usual. What I added is the ability to rename the label, and to choose the action that you can perform (see below for list of actions).
When you hit enter on the 'Action' button the following dialog pops up, where you can choose from a lot of functions.
A List of what you can add:
WORKING:
- Link to Musik Library (Home, Artists, Genres, Albums, Singles, Songs, Years, Top 100, Top 100 Songs, Top 100 Albums, recently added albums, recently played albums, compilations, last.fm, shoutcast, music playlists, playlist editor, party mode)
- Link to Movie Library(Movies, Titles, Genre, Actors, Directors, Studios, Country, Recently Added Movies, Movie Playlists, Sets, Recordings, Party Mode)
- Link to TV Shows (Title, genre, Year, Actors, studios, Recently Added Episodes)
- Link to Music Videos(Title, Genre, Year, Artist, Directors, Studios, Recently Added Music Videos)
- Open Filemanager
- Open Music/Video/Pictures (in File Mode)
- Open a specific Music/video/Picture folder in File Mode
- Open Weather/Favourites/Systeminfo Window
- Open Calibration Window
- Go To Settings
- Shutdown Functions (e.g. Reboot, Shutdown, Restart XBMC ...)
-Actions to execute directly (Update Music/Video Library/Update RSS)
- Start a Timer
- Reload Skin / Reset Skin Settings
- DVD/CD Controls (Eject/Play DVD/RipCD/Player Controls)
- Start (recursive) Slideshow of specific folder
- Start external Application
NON WORKING (yet):
- Send Wake-On-Lan
- LIRC stuff (start/stop/send)
- change Skin
- Start Addons/Scripts
- Play Playlists directly
- Go directly to specific TV Season, Artist etc... in Library Mode
What's still TODO:
- Localisation
- Animations and the arrows are wrong
- Adding the mission actions
So, here's the download link
Would be great if you could give it a try and tell me what you think about it.
@Ronni: any chance this could make it into your official version once it's finished?
