Transparency! v3.11.7 for xbmc dharma 10.1
Talle Wrote:I wonder if there would be possible, and I´m sure it is, to change the target of the Movies button in the main menu from files to genres?

I´ve done this myself in Aeon before, usualy there is just a simple change of the target from "moviefiles" to "moviegenres"

Includes_Home.xml, change the 2 occurrences of movietitles to moviegenres

Talle Wrote:Also while I´m at it, is there support for movie genre fanart?

no.

Talle Wrote:And how do I change the genre icons? Can´t find the pictures...

1) create a smart playlist
2) add the playlist to favourites
3) go to Skin Settings > Menu and use one of the custom (sub)menu items to select the favourite

ok, you're missing one step: add your playlist to favourites.

to do this, right-click on your playlist and select 'add to favourites'.

next, you can add it as a menu button.

Before you add it to the home menu you need to do the following

Settings > Skin Setting > Home Window, uncheck "Play playlists in submenus"

"it doesn't work" reports are useless ;-)

at least tell me what you did and where things go wrong.

Actually you can.. in the directory that contains your playlist
add a fanart image with the same name as the playlist with a -fanart.jpg
at the end of it.. say kids-fanart.jpg, and for the thumb nail image create
a kids.tbn by renaming a png file. so you will have 3 files in the subdirectory.

When I add a playlist to my favorites and go into the menu in settings
and attempt to add it to the menu it doesn't appear in the list of favorites,
in fact its not just playlists that have been giving me the problem. Sometimes scripts are not able to be added whall others are. Favorites is version 1.0.6.

ah, i see.
could it be that you have more than 20 favourites?
only the first 20 will be listed when you want to add them to a menubutton.

i could increase the number of items listed, if that's the case.

it's in custom_DialogFavourites.xml.
shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to add more items :-)
