hi,
I would like to view a streaming source from a ip camera:

http://user:password@ip_address:port/videostream.asf

I've been looking sources.xml and .strm or .pls but it doesn't work

May anybody give me a clue?

Thank you in advance

Hi there,
I was in the same boat and followed this post http://www.avsforum.com/t/1351772/applet...ion-solved

it worked just fine.

I'm just experiencing a noticeable lag/delay. Is it possible to increase the refresh rate?

regards

Thanks this URL works with my Foscam fi8905w. However then I play the .strm file in XBMC I can here a hissing / static noise. Can see the picture OK, but not sure where this noise is coming from. Didn't think the camera had audio on it.

Its the same if I play the URL in VLC, I can hear this noise so its not XBMCs doing.

My other camera is a HD dome camera I used a rtsp:// URL for that one, no funny noise can be heard either.

Thank you so much...I have a db power foscam clone, and have been trying to find the stream url all morning...!!! Works like a charm...if a little laggy!

This worked great with the exception of the aforementioned delay. That delay seems to stem from the videostream.asf itself. There is no delay on other devices that do not rely on this. In fact, if you substitute it for video.cgi or videostream.cgi, the lag disappears (but so does the sound.)

Adding "&resolution=8&rate=13" really helps with the latency at the cost of some resolution, though.

Does this method still work?

In OpenElec Gotham 13.2 I now just get a green screen that also flickers blue, obviously some codec issue.

In Gotham 13.1 the .asf stream would play and I could see the cameras picture, but it buffered constantly.

In Frodo it worked perfectly.

The FOSCAM .asf stream still plays perfectly fine in VLC today.

Thanks
