Does xbmc support ubuntu 10.9?
#1
So, I installed and ran xbmc and it was very slow and laggy. I assumed it was because the computer im using has a very old built in video card. SO i ordered a new card and some more RAM just for the heck of it.

Then I read in the User Guide Wiki that only Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04 and 8.10 are supported for 32 bit. I have Ubuntu 10.9.

Is 10.9 the reason (or part of the reason) for my lag?
Should i install 8.10 instead of 10.9 or will i be ok?

Going back to 8.1 wont be a big deal. I've only been using Linux for a week so starting over with the setup would just be good practice.

thanks

10.9 doesn't even exist.. there is 9.04, 9.10, 10.04, 10.10..
and we support all of the above. (no precompiled build for 10.10 yet thou)
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

oops, im not at home to check what release i have so I went to the ubuntu download page and it was at 10.10 and i knew i didn't have that. S i just assumed the one before it was 10.9. (what a stupid assumption) I must have 10.4.

If i knew more i'd update the wiki to fix this confusion but im obviously an idiot

Ubuntu uses a Year/Month scheme for it's releases. Every 6 months they release a new version. It is on the 4th month and the 10th month. The year comes first. So the next release will be 10.10, the next will be 11.04
