extrafanart
#1
been looking and can't find an answer. I've got extrafanart in all my folders like this:

Music
-----Artist
--------extrafanart
--------Album
-----------*.mp3 (etc)

Movies
-----Movie
--------extrafanart
-----------*.mkv (etc)

And am unable to get them to show in any skins. I've tried refreshing, clean install, removing source and redoing source. And can't get anything to work. Even a skin that i've adjusted to work for what i want (confluence) that used to work no longer does. Any ideas?

Thanks all.

yea, atleast in Night, the setting is Settings->Skin->Movie/Tv Options...

Music only works for Now playing screen, not Library views

Right i think that i've got such setup like that here is what i actually have.

---My Videos
-----The Expendables
---------extrafanart
-------------*.jpg
-------------*.jpg
-------------*.jpg
---------extrathumbs
-------------*.jpg
-------------*.jpg
-------------*.jpg
---------The Expendables.avi
---------fanart.jpg
---------The Expendables.jpg
---------The Expendables.nfo

And i've got the settings for extrafanart enabled.

Is there anything with Cache or anything else about XBMC that wouldn't make this skin specific?

What makes it skin specific is extrafanart isn't part of XBMC, as for as XBMC is concerned is has no idea 'extrafanart' even exists hence why you need skin support.

So the only thing that i should have to do for Night is check "Enable 'extrafanart' - allows random cycling of fanart in Library mode"
Correct?

If so i've got that done and still nothing. What am i missing, how or do i need to scan these in somewhere. When i've done update library/folder i see at the top where it does bring up extrafanart art folder but i don't think it does anything moves through really quickely.

1. Scan/rescanning does nothing. If something isn't built into XBMC(logos, clearART,Extrafanart), then theres no core code in XBMC to pick it up on scan.

2. Sometimes weird caching things happen try deleting Textures.db, XBMC\userdata\Database\Textures.db

3. If no luck post a debug log of you just scrolling thru 20-30 movie or TV shows...

I've got the same problem. Haven't really followed up yet as to why, but my setup is the same as in post #2.

Ok, i don't know what i did to fix the problem, but its now fixed and extrafanart is showing up. Well here are some things that i did.
1- deleted Textures.db per Mcborzu recommendation
2- ran CCleaner getting rid of all temp files
3- linked a pictures sorce to a music folder with extrafanart and labeled it extrafanart
4-in T! told skin where music folder was
5- restarted XBMC and left it sit there for awhile
6- low and behold when i came back "TADA" there it was.

So i'm not sure what fixed it, but these are the steps that i took. If anyone has the same problem that i had and can does these steps one by one and find out what actually fixed the problem you would no doubt help me but others in the future.

Thanks.
