I was reading that link you posted https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so...tion/99072 that source is for karmic and the latest LIVE is lucid. You are running the latest live right? Dharma B4
That could be the root of your problem. (Maybe, maybe not) but if you are using B4 then that is the wrong distribution source for that driver.
Remove what you did in that link. The deb sources.
Code:sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
delete these lines
Code:deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/markus-tisoft/rt3090/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/markus-tisoft/rt3090/ubuntu karmic main
I like the ppa way so thats why I asked you to delete instead of fix the dist name.

This is where the ppa for your driver is.

I'm going to order a replacement card instead like Mexicanking14 did, seems like he had better success with a better card.
Hopefully, get things going better now. I'll update and let you know what happened in a week or two, thanks for you help Fishoil and xbmc_on_Revo.
FishOil Wrote:If you do decide to go this route (I did with the ZOTAC MAG crappy wireless) I bought this card for $10 ($17 now). A very minor tweak it its a done deal.

Quote:Next suggestion u may not like it- get a new pcie mini network card- I bought one for my acer revo Intel wifi 5100- it works on 5gHz and can connect upto 300Mbps in windows- it costed me approx Euros 9 including shipping. And u dont need to install a driver- its already available on the xbmc package. I was not very happy with the ralink as the max connection in windows was 65Mbps and could not stream 1080P videos in xbmc. But since I have the new network card, has no problem at all.If it is true and the drivers are already in the xbmc package and should make it easy to get up and going...I hope!
