Once the started application is closed, it automatically give hand and focus to XBMC. I have asked several time to XBMC developers if it will be possible to add a "maximize" built-in" option into XBMC (a "minimize" option exists but not a "maximize"). Actually the only solution I have found is to use a intermediate script that will force XBMC to maximize : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=199. This method works with "XBMC true fullscreen" and "XBMC fullscreen window" modes but require the installation of the nircmd application and the use of a .bat file.
When the final version of Eden will be released I will works on that point and try to solve this problem. But Actually the current stable version of XBMC is the Dharma version and my main focus is on this version.
