[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC

Hi! Have you released your improved version of Advanced Launcher addon?
Thx

Hey bud,

Not yet. I was going to release it alongside SexyCirrus Complete when that's done but haven't found the time. After I release Sexy then I'll turn my attention back toward this as I got off to a good start.
OK, I can't wait to test your Advanced Laucher version Wink

I installed AL from Rufoo's dropbox link, but I'm unable to add any sources. I right-click "Default" and choose "Manage sources", but there's no way to add a new source that I can see. All I get is a File Manager screen with an "A" on the left, "B" on the right. Both A and B show a ".." which doesn't go anywhere, my E: drive (DVD/Blueray drive), and "Profile directory". There is no button to add a new source.

All I want to do is launch the Win10 Netflix app, but extensive searching has given me zero other addons that will launch an external program without me going in and trying to reverse-engineer them to launch something different than what they were intended to (Steam Launcher, Chrome Launcher, etc.)

Using Kodi 16 Jarvis on Windows 10 Education x64.

A friendly whack on the back of my head with a clue-by-four would be appreciated.

Alternatives:

1) Create a text file using Notepad, write a command to call the Netflix app's protocol (can't remember the input, I know the command is "start" but the rest I'm not sure about), save as .bat and point AL to that.
2) Use the app "Netflix Remote Controller". It launches the modern Netflix app and allows remote control. This app is fully customizable including hotkeys. Point AL to the NRC app's executable.

You don't "Add Sources" to Advanced Launcher like you would for a music library or video library or use Manage Sources. Left click Default instead and choose the type of launcher you want (we'll say Standalone for this example) and then point it toward the file you wish to add. Smile
I cant wait for your AL version too, can you give us some details of the new features or changesHuh?

Pliiiis?

Thanks for your effort Blush

Ps: please, takeout the anoying "open stream" message when you add games to kodi favourites Wink

The only things I started a while ago were a very preliminary Wikipedia scraper and some minor expansions to the type of data that could be entered like ratings, players, system info. I had still yet set up TheGamesDB scraper to fetch this data automatically. I removed AllGame from the list. Was going to attempt to add a function so when Android users select 'am' or 'su' it will open a menu to pick one of the commonly used emulators on Android to pre-populate the arguments for users which IncognitoMan wrote out in another thread (after I check in if he's cool with that). However, this project fell to the wayside as I could only really dedicate the free "kodi project" time I have at the moment toward SexyCirrus.

I may revist it once I release the last of SexyCirrus but if I do, it will only be a leisurely pursuit, not looking to "maintain" the project nor really bugfix it. In all honesty, if it were to be bugfixed at this stage you'd be better off just writing a whole new launcher from scratch.
Good afternoon , I can confirm if the scraper of google is working?
anyone ?
at least for me, its not working Sad
Thanks for answering , the only thing that works is TheGamesDB
Just a hint for everyone using rocketlauncher, you can launch every system via rocket launcher with advanced launcher therefore have every option rocketlauncher have ( fade in/out,pause,bezel etc...) allowing a very smooth experience of gaming within kodi, in advanced launcher , to add a system, point to rocketlauncher.exe and parameters are :
-s "system name" -r "%rom%"
The system name must be EXACTLY the same as in rocketlaucher and you must have the database of your system in the rocket launcher database folder...
Now you can start your emulation through kodi with a very nice fade in and loading screen etc....
for illustration...sorry for the very very bad quality I just did this quickly with my phone....

This can be done.

1. Go to Advanced Launcher options > Fanarts > Collecting Method: Local Images > OK.
2. Create a new launcher, when you reach the point where you assign your fanart directory select the folder where your images are.
3. Add the files to your new launcher then see if it worked.
4. If fanart is not immediately visible, close your Kodi session and relaunch. Sometimes this is required.

Hope this helps. Smile
Yes It works !!!
Thank u very much, i didn't see that there was on option "locally" for the thumb scan !
